Welcome to the home of the Gilbert Valley Bucks!

Our 2025/2026 Basketball Season officially starts on Monday, 13th October 2025.
Time to lace up, bring your A-game, and get ready for another fantastic season!

Season 25/26 is about to start!

Please make sure you have registered.

The GVBA Committee has decided to join the LABA competition this year, an exciting step that gives our players the opportunity to experience more competitive games, meet new people, and enjoy a greater variety of matchups.

In previous seasons, GVBA managed its own competition. Now, as part of the LABA network, we’ll benefit from added structure, support, and connection to the wider basketball community.

While this change brings a little extra travel, it also opens the door to new experiences and continued growth for our players and association.

Games will now be held between Riverton, Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda.

Welcome to season 2025/2026

The 25/26 season is set to commence on Monday 13th October. Team lists and season fixtures have been published on the website and on the Basketball Connect app.

The committee would like to thank everyone for their patience as we finalised registrations and set up the season with a new system.

Information

Mini Hoops and Training
Mini Hoops is a fun and supportive program designed to introduce our youngest players to the game of basketball. Under the guidance of Program Coordinator, Tali Yard, and her team of helpers, participants will learn fundamental skills in ball handling, movement, and basic game play, all in a positive and engaging environment.
Our Mini Hoops and Training sessions for this season begin Tuesday, Week 1 of Term 4 at the Riverton Gym, running for the remainder of term 4.

Mini Hoops: 4:00 – 4:30pm
Training / Ball Skills: 4:45 – 5:30pm

Boys and Men
Male teams will play against Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda on a Monday night commencing 13th October.
Game equipment is supplied by the association. Participants are asked to purchase or hire a jersey to wear during games.

Girls and Woman
Female teams will play against Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda on a Wednesday night commencing 15th October.
Game equipment is supplied by the association. Participants are asked to purchase or hire a jersey to wear during games.

Uniforms
Players must wear appropriate footwear, sneakers or basketball shoes to play and shorts without pockets (for safety reasons). Basketball tops are to be worn, these can be purchased here https://gilbertvalleybucks.square.site/s/shop

Team communication
Teams are able to communicate with coaches through the Basketball Connect app. It is players responsibility to inform their coach if they are unavailable for a game. We will be using the Basketball Connect platform as our primary method of communication over the course of the season, so we encourage everyone to download the app and play around with it before the season commences.

Canteen
Alicia Clarke has stepped into the role of canteen coordinator this year. We thank her for her time and effort in filling this position. She will be looking for helpers throughout the season, if you are able to support in this, please get in contact with us.
